Holy Trinity GCI

Everyone is welcome in the
Parish of the Most Holy & Undivided Trinity, Grimsby, Cleethorpes & Immingham!

I have contacted the Parish of the Annunciation in Minneapolis, where two children were killed and several injured during Mass yesterday, via social media to express our condolences and to say that our hearts are full of love for them all.

We will continue to pray for them all, as this is a terrible tragedy not just for the families of the two Key Stage Two-aged children who were killed, but those injured and the whole parish and school family.

Fortunately such mass shootinga are much, much rarer in this country than they are in the USA, where they seem to be a daily occurrence: the shock in this shooting is that the children were so young and it took place while they were celebrating Mass as a school in their parish church at the start of the new school year.

Oh Lord, why? Why do so many innocent children have to die, whether it’s in Minneapolis, Gaza, Ukraine or else where? Spare your people, Lord, and give them the grace to you, who are gracious and compassionate to all your creatures! Can we please spare your children, all of them, and give them br as and not bullets, and hope and not hurt!

Eternal rest grant unto these two children, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace,
and their guardian angels watch over them
and speed them to paradise.

Not bad for a team mainly free transfers, and never played at home!

I was delighted to welcome to our parish to celebrate Mass with us this morning Raegan Long and Lina Jamoul, who are supporting LOGIC’s work here in North Esst Lincolnshire.

On a day when Grimsby is the talk of the nation for a very good reason, namely a certain football match last night not a million miles from where I am standing in this photo, it is good for us all to remember what a wonderful place we live in, and as I prepare to leave here in just a few days’ time, I will always feel very much at home here in our great borough, the best in Britain and beyond!

There's some nice people in Grimsby, but needs reinvestment as there's some deprived areas there since the collapse of the fishing industry 🙏

I'm really sorry you are leaving your Church family but you will all settle down with your new Church and the people you leave will with thier new Priest. xxxx

Thank you to everyone at the Holy Trinity Social Club for inviting me to their gathering this week, and for presenting me with these beautiful cakes, which I immediately shared back with them all, card and present - thank you everyone, and I hope and pray that you will keep enjoying each other’s company and togetherness for a long time to come!

Thank you, looks great

The Holy See has announced that the next World Day of Peace, which will be celebrated on the Solemnity of the Holy Mother of God, 1st January 2026, will take as its theme: ‘Peace be with you: towards a disarmed and disarming peace.’

The Holy Father first words when he appeared on the balcony of St Peter’s Basilica after his election on Thursday 8th May were ‘Peace be with you,’ the words with which Our Lord greeted his disciples after his Resurrection. Let us pray to the Prince of Peace for that disarmed and disarming peace for which Pope Leo calls - and allow ourselves to minister that peace to all whom we meet!
