Stella Maris

Stella Maris Wesbite

Stella Maris serves seafarers from across the world, regardless of belief, nationality or race. In all the main ports in Great Britain our team of chaplains and volunteer ship visitors visit thousands of seafarers each year, meeting their needs through the provision of help, support and advice. The Port of Immingham is the UK’s largest port by tonnage, handling around 46 million tonnes of cargo every year. We are proud to have a Stella Maris presence in our parish supporting and welcoming those who arrive at the port, supported greatly by Parishoners volunteering as ship visitors.

If you would be interested in becoming a ship visitor working with Stella Maris then please do get in touch with the Parish Office or Father Andrew and we can pass your contact details on to the port chaplain.

The St. Vincent De Paul Society

Turning Concern Into Action
SVP website

We have an active SVP group in our parish of The Most Holy and Undivided Trinity who would welcome your support.

Our vision, which is inspired by Christ’s message to love our neighbour as ourselves, is for individuals and families who are in any form of need to have hope together with a sense of dignity, worth, well-being and peace of mind.

Our mission is to seek and find those in need, to help them in a spirit of justice and tackle the causes of poverty where we can, to visit, befriend and assist those in need with a spirit of love and compassion.

The SVP Society is non-discriminatory, helping those in need. It is non-judgemental and does not make value judgements about those asking for assistance. In short, the Society will aim to help anyone in need within our local community.

You can support the SVP in our parish by:

  • Praying for our work
  • Becoming a member of the SVP – to visit, telephone & befriend
  • Providing lifts to the Holy Mass & social events, doctors & hospital visits
  • Becoming a member to undertake a non-visiting role
  • Becoming a friend of the SVP
  • Financially supporting the SVP
  • Remembering our work by including the SVP in your Will
  • Telling your family and friends about our work

If you would like to know more, come along to one of our meetings (normally held on the first Thursday of each month)

Should you require help or a home visit – please contact Fr Andrew, the Parish Office, or any member of the SVP. Alternatively, please contact Marie-Therese 07736 921676.

CAFOD

CAFOD’s Website

Who are CAFOD?
We are part of one of the largest aid networks in the world. Because of our global reach and local presence, together we have the potential to reach everyone.

Our local experts help some of the most difficult-to-reach people in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Whether it’s a single mother living in a remote area, a teenage boy living in a war zone, or a disabled father and daughter who are discriminated against, we help anyone regardless of faith, gender and ethnicity.

Through a local priest, a midwife or a water engineer – our global reach is present in the lived experience of local communities. These skilled women and men understand what people need because they are part of the communities they work in. Their commitment, passion and knowledge reach people other organisations can’t.

We have the potential to reach so many people because we are a member of a global Church network with a presence in 165 countries. The local Church is trusted even in the most dangerous countries, regions and communities regardless of religion. This means that your support will help those who are truly in need.

The Grimsby Circle of the Catenians

We are a network of Catholics who meet regularly to enjoy each other’s company and to
help and support each other throughout the world.Providing supportive friendship for over 100 years, the Catenian Association has a focus on the future and the busy, modern lives of its members.

We now invite all Catholic men to join our global community of members and their families, offering a genuine sense of belonging, friendship and connection.  The Grimsby Circle of the Catenians has been around since 1958. We meet once a month at Grimsby Golf Club for a meeting, a meal and we have a varied social programme of events.

But we also do things for others:
*       We organise Social Events in the Parish
*        We raise money for local charities
*        We have a Bursary Fund to help young Catholics

Our support for each other is based on deep and lasting friendships built upon the foundation on a shared faith.
